Oostkamp is located in the north of the province of West Flanders in Belgium. The nearest major city is Bruges, 7 km away. Since January 1, 1977, this municipality consists of the towns of Oostkamp, Ruddervoorde, Hertsberge and Waardamme and has a size of 7,964 ha and 21,395 inhabitants.

Due to the convenient location on two motorways, industry settled and Oostkamp was able to develop into a dynamic and leading community. The town hall, inaugurated in 1883, has an impressive council hall. It shows pictures of all the mayors and monarchs of Belgium from Oostkamp.

A special enrichment for the community is the sports and cultural center “De Volkart”. This complex houses a swimming pool, a sports hall, a theater and various cultural spaces. A former mill “De Wieke”, located in the center of Oostkamp, now serves as a cultural center for the community. European artists exhibit their works there. The community is surrounded by 20 castles, most of which are privately owned and inhabited. 4 community parks and numerous cycling and hiking trails invite you to relax and unwind. The Golden Spurs Marathon of Flanders, a distance of 42 km, from Kortrijk to Bruges runs through the center of Oostkamp every July.
