in the Hainich National Park

Tip: Explore the underworld in the “Root cavity“!

Enjoy a wonderful panoramic view of "the jungle in the middle of Germany". Explore a tree tower that towers a total of 44 meters over the tops of the trees and a 540-meter path that winds through the crowns.

The treetop path is located at Thiemsburg in Hainich National Park, about 10 kilometers west of Bad Langensalza. This is on the way to the treetop path National park center and the Root cavity. An interactive world of experience invites you to discover the secrets of Hainich and the underworld. The path runs steadily from 10 m up to 24 m and offers insights into one of the most diverse habitats on earth. If you are brave, you can test your skills on two suspension bridges and understand the swinging of the branches in the beech crowns.
